Extensions

Extensions are individual wefts of hair that are used to enhance your natural hair. They can be used to add length and or fullness.

We use a hidden bead method with hand-tied extensions. We use Style Luxe hair to ensure the best quality for our clients.

With 10 years of experience enhancing hair with extensions, we’ve tested many of the industry’s leading brands. In the end, we love Style Lux hair because of its incredible quality and longevity. The ethically-sourced, silicone-free remy hair absorbs and holds color longer and with more radiance than competitors. Each weft is built with a firmly bonded but nearly flat glued strip at the root (as opposed to the thread-woven wefts that are often used). This thin strip makes for a seamless look and provides a much better hold for the extension hair with less shedding over time.

We begin with an in-person consultation to better understand your hair goals and customize a plan to achieve your desired outcome. During that consultation, we will assess your natural hair and make recommendations based on your starting point. We will color-match your hair with extension samples in the salon and work with you to find the right length and number of wefts needed. Once ordered, extensions typically arrive within a week and we are ready for install. On installation day, we begin with color-matching services for both the natural and extension hair. After that’s complete, we install the extensions while you enjoy a healthy lunch on the house. To finish the look, we cut hair to blend naturally and polish it off with a blow-out.

Extensions are great for anyone looking to add length or fullness to their natural hair. Because they require a little upkeep in addition to your normal hair routine, we suggest hair extensions for anyone who already takes good care of their natural hair.

The final cost depends on your length and volume goals and is customized during your consultation. Below is a high-level idea of the range of cost:

• 1 Row 18” — $990+

• 2 Row 18” — $1695+

• 3 Row 18” — $2205+

• 1 Row 22” — $1294+

• 2 Row 22” — $2304+

• 3 Row 22” — $2945

A consultation is always needed to determine the exact cost and plan for your hair. That being said, most of the time 2 or more rows of extensions are needed to achieve added length.

Most of the time, added volume and thickness can be achieved with 1 row of extensions. However, as stated above, a consultation is recommended to customize a plan for your hair goals.

The installation process takes 3-6 hours depending on what color services you are getting along with your installation. Many of our clients order lunch ahead (on us!) and enjoy a healthy meal, coffee, and some downtime while we work.

Every 6-8 weeks depending on hair density. The time needed for move-up appointments is typically 2-4 hours, although it could take as long as the original installation depending on the color services needed to blend the root well.

Caring for your extensions well will directly impact the health and longevity of the hair. We recommend the use of professional-grade products in the following cadence:

• Sulfate-free shampoo 2-3x a week

• Deep conditioning hair mask 1x weekly

• Thorough but gentle brushing 2x a day

• Sleep with your hair in a low ponytail or braid

• Wear hair low when doing intense workouts

Ocean or pool water can be harsh and cause damage to hair and hair extensions when not properly prepared for. Protect your extensions with the following tips to maintain their health and longevity:

• Use only mineral sunscreen on your body (traditional sunscreen may turn extensions orange when it bleeds onto the hair)

• Spray leave-in conditioner throughout your hair before getting it wet in ocean or pool water

• Fasten hair in a low braid while it’s still dry

• If hair gets wet while swimming, be sure to shampoo and condition afterward

When you come for your initial in-person consultation, we color-match your hair to order the closest match for your color and length goals. On installation day, we blend the hair with color and cut services to ensure a perfect natural-looking outcome.
